Marvin Wilhelm who started by owning a car wash and a laundry mat in Merriam, Kansas established Windtrax in 1974. He and his wife Peggy bought and sold car washes and as the number of car washes grew, so did the amount of spare parts and supplies Marvin needed to keep in stock. Often other car wash owners would be in a bind and ask to purchase a spare part or two from him. As more and more car wash owners purchased items from Marvin, he outgrew his parts room and built our first location. In 1986 the company became a corporation. This 4,000 square foot building was the home of Windtrax Inc. until 1996 when we moved to our current location of over 20,000 square feet. Marvin and Peggy Wilhelm have worked hard to build the family owned business to what it is today. If you ask anyone around here, Marvin is the car wash expert and passes his knowledge of the industry on to all our employees.
