The Story
Suttner GmbH in Bielefeld, Germany
has been producing quality products for over 30 years.

1965: Founding of Suttner-Plastik company in Bielefeld-Sennestadt.
1969: Relocation to Stukenbrock. Expansion of tool manufacturing department.
1973: Large scale fire; the injection molding section was destroyed and rebuilt.
1974: Founding of Suttner-Technik. Beginning production of high pressure cleaning equipment and accessories.
1975: New construction of the present building. Relocation back to Bielefeld-Sennestadt.
1980-1992: Expansion of high pressure cleaning components. First contacts outside Europe. Suttner products sold in U.S. through independent distributors.
1992: Suttner America Company established in Dubuque, Iowa.
1996: Suttner America Company is the sole importer of Suttner products. SAC is the marketing/warehouse facility serving the western hemisphere. SAC provides "Just-in-Time" service for manufacturers and central distribution for wholesalers.

A Short Guide to Spray Gun Selection

Many factors are involved in selecting a spray gun.
Particular applications may call for a gun with specific features.

Pressure and Flow
The first determining factors are pressure and flow of the system. For example, if your pressure washer is capable of producing 4000 PSI, you would not want to install a gun with a maximum rating of 3000 PSI. Flow is also a concern. If your pump produces 10 GPM, a gun with a maximum flow rating of 8 GPM would restrict the flow, possibly causing excess pressure in the system. Suttner gun models range in pressures from 2850 PSI to 7000 PSI. Flow ratings range from 7 GPM to 26 GPM.

Applications
The next consideration is the application in which the gun will be used. The standard gun versions handle most of the pressure washing applications. If harsh chemicals will be used, stainless steel versions are available. Suttner also has guns with a unique anti-fatigue trigger system. This version is used in applications where the operator will be using the gun 6-8 hours a day. The car wash industry often uses guns that weep a small stream of water when the valve is closed. This prevents the system from freezing in cold weather. If your application calls for a linear gun, the ST-601 will do the job. Suttner offers all of these versions to meet the application.

Preference
Operators may have preferences concerning the spray guns they use. The spray gun is the contact point between the operator and the machine. It should be as comfortable and controllable as possible.
Some hot water users prefer front-entry guns because the heated solution does not travel through the handle of the gun. These guns are typically less expensive; however, because of the design, the triggers are harder to pull open than rear-entry guns. Suttner's ST-1500 is preferred in the car wash industry. The ergonomic design fits even smaller hands well. It is also durable enough to take a few knocks from abusive users. The ST-1600 has an "over-the-top" trigger which gives an easier pull because of the leverage point. This design makes the gun physically bigger. The new ST-2600 gun has been developed to be the easiest pulling and most comfortable gun in the industry. It allows for full-fingered gripping and the spray angle provides the least amount of stress on the operator's wrist.
