Coin Comparators/Acceptors

SLUGBUSTER® I
Electronic Single Coin Acceptor

PATENTED SINGLE COIN COMPARATOR
Patented coin comparator is factory pre-set to accept only coins that match a sample, and reject common slugs. Sample can be changed.
Some foreign coins can be used.
ADJUSTABLE SELECTIVITY
Selectivity adjustment allows fine tuning to reject problem slugs.
AUTOMATIC COIN RETURN
Returns all rejected coins and slugs. Also returns any coins inserted during a power outage.
BUILT-IN COIN SWITCH
Electronically credits each accepted coin. No mechanical micro-switch needed.
DESIGNED TO PREVENT STRINGING
Patented electronic circuitry and mechanical design prevent pulling a coin-on-a-string out and reinserting it, or moving it up and down inside the coin acceptor for more credit.
NON-JAMMING
Coin chute design prevents coins from jamming in normal operation.
WATER RESISTANT
Sealed to prevent splashed water damage, the electronic circuitry is protected for safe installation in meter boxes as well as equipment rooms.
LOW MAINTENANCE
Simple mechanical design has only two moving parts, and no mechanical adjustments.
RETROFITABLE
The SLUGBUSTER I comes in a support bracket with mounting studs: it fits on a standard 2’ or 3” mechanical faceplate. 2” faceplate with coin cup available.
COIN COUNTER READY
Unit is pre-wired, ready for the installation of a 24 volt AC electromagnetic coin counter.
EASY TO INSTALL
Wiring is color coded for easy hook-up. Wiring diagram included for most common applications. For other applications, consult your authorized distributor or Parker Engineering & Manufacturing, Inc.
MECHANICAL SPECIFICATIONS
The upper slot on the face plates and meter box covers are available in three dimensions: 1.0”, 1.052” (to size out the Canadian half dollar) , and 1.2”. Unit comes with a coin cup. An optional stainless steel coin return loop is available.

WARNINGS: To avoid shock hazard, your meter box must be properly grounded. It is your responsibility to make sure your installation meets your local electrical codes.
Connect only 24 volts AC to the black and yellow wires. If you connect any voltage above 32 volts AC, the electronics will be destroyed, and your warranty will be voided.
NOTES: The coin path must be kept clean enough so the LED light beamed across it can be detected by the light sensitive transistor on the other side. Do not allow bright light to shine into the coin path during testing or normal operation.
There must always be a sample coin in the sample holder for proper operation.

CAUTIONS: Before attempting to change any of the factory settings, consult your authorized distributor or Parker Engineering & Manufacturing for detailed information on changing sample coins and selectivity adjustments.
Do not turn any screws or hex nuts that are locked in place with blue sealant. These are factory set adjustments. If you break the seal, your warranty will be voided.
Do not twist the sensing coils. If you twist them, they will break, and your warranty will be voided.
Do not apply oil to the unit. If you coat the unit with oil, your warranty will be voided.
